O’s outrun Yanks again

Hyun Soo Kim hit a tiebreakin­g RBI single off Dellin Betances in the seventh inning after a rare stolen base by slugger Mark Trumbo, and the Orioles remained the only unbeaten team in the majors by rallying past the New York Yankees, 5-4, yesterday in American League action in Baltimore.

One day after making up a four-run deficit, the Orioles came back from being down 4-1 to improve to 4-0.

Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez left in the fifth after straining his right biceps during his follow-through on a swing.

Mychal Givens (1-0) pitched a scoreless seventh and Zach Britton got his third save, with Chris Carter’s bid for a go-ahead, two-run homer being caught on the warning track for the final out.

New York’s Matt Holliday got his 2,000th career hit, an opposite-field single to right in the first inning.

Rays 3, Blue Jays 2 — In St. Petersburg, Fla., Toronto reliever Casey Lawrence made his major league debut and wound up walking home the winning run with two outs in the 11th inning, giving Tampa Bay the win.

White Sox 6, Twins 2 — Avisail Garcia went 3-for-4 with a single, triple, homer and three RBI, and Geovany Soto homered just after Garcia, as host Miguel Gonzalez (1-0) won as Chicago handed Minnesota its first loss.

Royals 7, Astros 3 — Cheslor Cuthbert hit a solo homer early and Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez both went deep during a six-run eighth inning, backing Danny Duffy (1-0) and helping visiting Kansas City rally for the win. Athletics 6, Rangers 1 — In Arlington, Texas, Kendall Graveman (2-0) held Texas hitless until Mike Napoli homered with two outs in the seventh inning, and Oakland got a homer from Yonder Alonso in the win.

National League

Rockies 4, Dodgers 2 — In Denver, Clayton Kershaw (1- 1) surrendere­d back-to-back homers for the first time in his career, with Mark Reynolds and Gerardo Parra going deep in the sixth inning, and Los Angeles lost to Colorado.

Nolan Arenado also homered off Kershaw, in the first.

Cubs 11, Brewers 6 — NL MVP Kris Bryant broke out of his early slump by driving in his first three runs of the season with a two-run double and RBI single, and Chicago overcame a shaky start by Kyle Hendricks (1-0) to beat Milwaukee. Cardinals 4, Reds 0 — Aledmys Diaz hit two homers, Michael Wacha allowed one run over six innings to win his first start of the year and host St. Louis shut out Cincinnati to spoil Bronson Arroyo’s return to the majors.

Marlins 8, Mets 1 — Marcell Ozuna hit a long homer and Adam Conley (1-0) allowed one hit in five innings to lead Miami, whose Christian Yelich crashed into the outfield fence for a fantastic catch, by host New York.

Pirates 6, Braves 4 — Gregory Polanco had no trouble with the knucklebal­l of R.A. Dickey (0-1), getting three of his four hits and driving in a run off the starter to lead host Pittsburgh past Atlanta.

Padres 2, Giants 1 — Rookie Manuel Margot doubled twice off Madison Bumgarner (0-1), Jhoulys Chacin (1-1) and two relievers held San Francisco to five hits and host San Diego prevailed. Phillies 17, Nationals 3 — Howie Kendrick had a threerun triple in a 12-run first inning, the biggest in team history, and Philadelph­ia went on to complete the rout of visiting Washington.

— In Phoenix, David Peralta hit a go-ahead solo homer off the foul pole in the sixth inning and Arizona came from behind again before pulling away late for the lopsided win against Cleveland.

Zack Greinke (1-0) pitched 62⁄ solid innings for the win. 3
