VERONICA BURTON NEWTON SOUTH
The junior point guard averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.6 steals per game in leading the Lions to an 18-5 record and a berth in the Division 1 South semifinals. A two-time Herald All-Scholastic, Burton was the Dual County League Large MVP for the third straight season as well as the MVP of the McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic. She has over 1,300 points for her career.
MARISSA GATTUSO WOBURN
The MVP of the Middlesex Liberty, the senior point guard averaged 17.8 points and 6.4 assists on her way to surpassing the 1,000-point barrier this season. A three-time league all-star, she led the Tanners to a fourth straight league title. Gattuso is a member of the National Honor Society. She will continue her basketball career at Merrimack College.
SAYAWNI LASSITER NEWTON NORTH
The Florida State University-bound point guard averaged 19.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in leading her team to a 17-4 record. She was named the Bay State Conference Carey Division MVP and reached the 1,000-point mark in just three seasons. An honor-roll student, she finished her career averaging 17.2 points per game and also plays for the Boston Showstoppers.
KATIE NELSON BISHOP FEEHAN
The senior point guard averaged 17.6 points, 5.3 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game this season. The school's all-time girls scoring leader, the four-time Eastern Athletic Conference AllStar ended her career with 1,439 points and a state championship from 2016. A high-honors student, Nelson will play basketball at Boston University in the fall.
JENNY WORDEN ABINGTON
A three-time Herald All-Scholastic selection, the senior guard finished as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,840 points. The two-time South Shore League MVP averaged 21.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 5.8 steals and 4.7 assists per game this season. Worden is an honor-roll student and four-year varsity soccer player at the school. She will continue her basketball career at Stonehill College.
