PREPARED FOR
IMPACT: Things got rather sporty in the Seaport, as Team
IMPACT, a nonprofit organization that pairs children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, held its yearly Game Day Gala at the World Trade Center. Team IMPACT co-founders Jay
Calnan and Dan Kraft headed up the benefit, which was emceed by ESPN’s Wendi Nix and brought out guests like Dan’s dad, Robert Kraft, and Pats running back Dion Lewis to raise more than $1.8 million.
AS IFF: The Independent Film Festival of Boston just kicked off its programming with the documentary “Stumped.” For those unfamiliar with the documentary, it follows Will Lautzenheiser, a former film production and screenwriting professor at Boston University who received a double arm transplant
at Brigham and Women’s. Lautzenheiser, “Stumped” director Robin Berghaus and staff from the Brigham all showed up for the Somerville Theater screening. WE’VE GOT SPIRIT: Comedian and former “My Life on the D List” star Kathy Griffin made an appearance in town. Griffin, who’s now more of an A-lister and also apparently babysits for neighbors Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s children, joined more than 1,300 LGBT professionals for Boston
Spirit magazine’s 11th annual LGBT Executive Networking Night. She took the stage at the Boston Marriott Copley Place to speak to the crowd — and to take selfies, of course.
