‘Obstacles to peace’
The criticism of a proposed resolution for the Democratic Party looked at the messenger, instead of examining the message (“Massachusetts Peace Action staffer pushes anti-Israel plan,” April 24). The message is a no-brainer: The proposal said that the settlements on the West Bank are “obstacles to peace,” something that has been said by every U.S. president since Lyndon Johnson.
It goes without saying that it is hypocrisy to stand for a twostate solution and not admit that more settlements are impediments to it. And it shouldn’t matter who put forward the resolution or where she works.
