TRACK: TOM & GI LIGHT UP MET GALA
The annual Met Gala — aka the Oscars of the East Coast — went down last night and, as if we needed another reason to experience FOMO over this A-list bash, our power couple Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen were co-chairs.
Earlier in the evening yesterday, the duo posted an Instagram photo of themselves cuddling and smooching in the hotel. Tom already has a shirt and bow tie on, but Gisele was still rocking a fluffy white bathrobe.
Don’t let her pregame ensemble fool you: Gisele was saving her glamour for the last moment. Before she left their hotel room, the supermodel posed for another Insta post in her slinky, shimmering silver gown, a ponytail and diamond drop earrings.
On the red carpet, the lovebirds were in their element, as always. They stopped for prime PDA, which is exactly what the cameras wanted, and to show off the cutout back of Gisele’s Stella McCartney gown. It was low — like “I know she’s from Brazil, but dang, that’s low” low.
As for TB12, he sported a velvet tuxedo that, you guessed it, matched the pewter color of his beloved’s dress.
Tom and Gisele weren’t the only Boston-linked celebs who attended the exclusive gala.
Funnygal Mindy Kaling was there, wearing an off-the-shoulder, glittery navy gown by Prabal Gurung. And as Kaling’s Instagram showed, the star of “The Mindy Project” snuck off from the party into other exhibits at the Met. What a total Dartmouth alum move.
As far as other co-chairs go, we’re going to say it: Katy Perry stole the show. The singer showed up in a custom Maison Margiela getup. You would think wearing red might cause her to blend into the carpet, but her embroidered veil made her stand out like Santa Muerte incarnate.
Pharrell Williams, also a co-host, came to the event in ripped jeans, a flannel shirt and a leather jacket decked out in pins. Was Judd Nelson a la “The Breakfast Club” his muse? From the looks of it, definitely maybe.
Now, let’s talk about the lady of the hour: Anna Wintour. “The Devil Wears Prada” boss wore a cream and gold Chanel dress adorned with feathers and bling. Her infamous sunglasses were nowhere to be found.
We like the look, Madame Wintour, but Coco probably would have told you to look in the mirror and remove that necklace before you left the house.
