BUDDING BROMANCE?
Picture evidence shows Matt Damon once again getting awfully cozy with fellow actor Chris Hemsworth — fueling chatter that the “Thor” star has pilfered the BFF crown previously belonging to Ben Affleck.
Hemsworth recently took to Instagram, posting a photo that shows him all smiles on a boat with our local man Damon in the Mediterranean. Later, Hemsworth shared a couple of other shots featuring Mr. Matt, one of which revealed they were together at the Monaco Grand Prix.
This bro date abroad would be even more epic if it were a solo excursion, but alas it was a group affair. Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, Hemsworth’s wife, Elsa Pataky, and a handful of other guests were aboard the boat and squished together while watching the famous auto race.
Since the start of the year, Damon and Hemsworth do seem to be upping their public display of amity. The pair was spotted hanging out at Amazon Studios’ Golden Globes afterin January. They posed for pictures clad in dark suits and with a loving arm around each other.
And in April, the Damon family flew Down Under to spend some quality time with the Hemsworth clan. The actors and their loved ones hung out in Hemsworth’s native Australia, specifically where he resides in Byron Bay. At the time, the Daily Telegraph reported that these two guys had “been flying in aircraft from Avmin Air Charter Specialists and driving luxury cars” throughout the duration of their joint vacation.
The two stars have been buds for a few years now. Last summer, Damon talked openly about his friendship with Hemsworth on Nova 969’ s“Fitzy & Wippa” show.
“Hemsworth is a great friend of mine,” Damon said. “I’m really tight with him and his wife and the kids.”
Likewise, Hemsworth has also spilled details about their growing relationship, telling GQ back in 2014, “We became friends around the time I started to work, and I’ve really benefited from watching how he handles himself.”
In light of these latest pictures in Monaco, the buzz online suggests that Hemsworth might be replacing Affleck as Damon’s bestie.
As of late, Affleck has had his plate full with other relationship priorities — namely, his freshly filed divorce from Jennifer Garner. But to say he’ll ever take a backseat to Hemsworth when it comes to Damon’s pals is rubbish.
