Tiger Woods’ DUI video released by cops

Golfer Tiger Woods, a 14-time major champion, appeared confused, incoherent and unsteady on his feet as Florida cops walked him through field sobriety tests, newly released video shows.

The footage, made public last night by the Jupiter, Fla., police department, shows Woods wearing a white T-shirt and a black baseball cap, standing barefoot on the right side of the road and unable to perform the tasks asked of him by police.

“I need you to follow the light,” a cop tells Woods as he moves the light from side to side. “You’re not even looking at it.”

“I am following the light,” Woods replied, jabbing his finger awkwardly at it.

The golfer was unable to walk the solid white line on the side of the road, stepping off several times to catch his balance, and began staggering away when asked to stand with his feet together and his hands at his side.

“You don’t have to walk anywhere,” an officer tells him. “Are you OK?”

Stepping backwards slightly, Woods replies, “What, uh, what, uh, what are we doing?”

Police found Woods asleep at the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz just after 2 a.m. Monday. Arrested as a suspected drunken driver, the golf legend blew a .000 on two Breathalyzer tests and later blamed the incident on an unexpected reaction to prescription medication. Police reports state Woods was cooperative — he can be heard answering ‘yes, sir’ to questions — but confused.

Woods was unable to tie his shoes, police said, and opted to perform the sobriety tests barefoot.

A separate video shows some of cops’ interaction with Woods as his car sat partially in the bike lane on the right side of the road. He told police he did not know why they were speaking to him.

“You’re stopped in the middle of the road,” the officer says on the video.

“Oh, yeah,” Woods replies.

Police cited Woods for DUI and illegal parking. He was released after a threehour stint in county jail Monday morning and is due in court July 5.
