United biz class to get boost on Hub-San Fran flights
United Airlines will add its Boston-San Francisco flights to its premium transcontinental route network and start offering lay-flat beds, upgraded meal and beverage services, and other amenities to business class passengers.
Reservations are available now for the new service, which will begin in both directions July 1.
“We routinely see high demand for travel between our coasts, and we want to provide the same level of quality typically reserved for international routes,” marketing vice president Mark Krolick said. “Now, as a premium transcontinental market, we are increasing significantly the number of business class seats available to Boston travelers on this route.” Business class flights will have up to 28 lay-flat beds per departure. Amenities will include hot towel service after take-off and before landing, a Moscow mule cocktail, new seasonal menus and desserts, customdesigned duvets and pillows from Saks Fifth Avenue, amenity kits with products from Soho House & Co’s Cowshed Spa and pre-arrival snacks.
Economy Plus passengers will also see upgraded service. They’ll be served a free hot entree, dessert, fruit, pre-arrival snack and alcoholic beverages from a coastal city-inspired menu.
“Flying between Boston ... and the West Coast can be akin to flying from the East Coast to Europe, and we want to provide a satisfying and unparalleled meal in our economy cabin,” Krolick said.
