Bay State police were monitoring the terror incidents in London last night and offering support to the victims and first responders in the midst of the violence.

In a statement last night, state police officials said the “Commonwealth Fusion Center is monitoring developments and intelligence pertaining to” the attacks on London Bridge and a nearby market, as it does with all suspected terrorism incidents.

The fusion center reached out to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Center, state police spokesman David Procopio said.

“If any information is developed that has relevance to the safety of Massachusetts residents, the Fusion Center will share it with partner law enforcement agencies and the public,” Procopio said, adding, “Our thoughts are with the London victims and the emergency responders who again have been confronted by deadly extremist acts.”

When asked about the attacks last night, a Boston police spokseman said there were “no credible threats locally at this time.”

“The Boston Regional Intelligence Center continues to monitor the unfolding situation in London,” police spokesman Stephen McNulty said. “The BPD will ensure that adequate resources are in place for all upcoming special events across the city this weekend.”
