Patrick P. Grande, 90, of Medford, a veteran

Patrick P. “Pat” Grande of Medford died Thursday at Daniels House Nursing Home in Reading. He was 90.

Mr. Grande was born in Cambridge.

He attended school in Cambridge, but left to support his mother and younger brother during World War II while his older brothers were serving. He enlisted in the Army when his brothers returned and served as a sergeant from 1946 to 1947.

He worked as a shoe salesman in various stores in Boston, retiring in 1991.

Mr. Grande enjoyed woodworkin­g projects, using mostly recycled wood. He became very skilled, and his family and friends were the grateful recipients of his work.

Mr. Grande was a devout Catholic who had a deep faith in his religion. He taught CCD classes at the Immaculate Conception in Everett. For 29 years he served as a Eucharisti­c minister for the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden. He loved spending time with others, and had a special interest in the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Husband of the late Anna F. and Madeline A., he is survived by two daughters, Patrice A. and Donna P. Pollens; a son, Paul W.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Malden.

Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
