Find recipe for success at CSCA
The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts is now accepting applications through Aug. 21 for our September Culinary and Pastry programs. At the CSCA, students and instructors work together to create exceptional and customizable culinary experiences through the philosophy that food is truly a celebration of life.
Flexible schedule options allow students to work full- or part-time jobs while completing their culinary education during day or evening classes. All classes are held in four professional kitchens filled with restaurant-grade equipment, and are led by talented chef instructors possessing years of professional national and international experience.
Small, intimate kitchen labs provide hands-on instruction, and a seminar series complements the materials and skills covered in lab with information on theory, food science, food history and business development. Students also participate in charitable events, restaurant stages, and assist in our recreational program to gain rich and varied experience in the culinary arts.
Students may choose from several intensive programs: the Culinary Certificate Program, a 16-week fundamental exploration into basic cooking and baking; the Professional Chef’s Program, a 37-week course that advances the fundamentals of food theory and practice in a classical and modern context; the Certificate Pastry Program, a 16-week study of the basics of pastry arts; and the Professional Pastry Program, a 37-week fundamental exploration of pastry, chocolate and sugar work, directed by New England’s only French Master Pastry Chef, Delphin Gomes.
Established by chef Roberta Dowling in 1974, the CSCA seeks to stimulate the senses and allow students to discover beauty and complexity within the world of food. The education received at the CSCA provides students with a legacy of diverse culinary knowledge and skill. Students explore all aspects of culinary arts as they learn to produce dishes that demonstrate technical and scientific mastery.
In addition, the CSCA offers an extensive recreational program for food enthusiasts. These single and short-series classes cover a wide range of subject matter and are designed to introduce the amateur adult or teen chef to the world of specialty cooking. The kitchens and instructors are also available for private events and corporate team-building cooking classes.
The CSCA is hosting an open house on July 20. Please register by calling 617-324-2020 or join us at one of our upcoming information sessions held every other Thursday.
