IN OUR ATMOSPHERE: While in town to play Fenway, singer and guitarist

John Mayer swung by his Boston alma mater, Berklee, to spread his songwriting wisdom via a masterclass. The seventime Grammy winner sat down with six selected students — Eva Cassel, Danny Silberstein, Charlotte Lessing, Miette Hope, Brian Walker and Callie Sullivan — to perfect their songs. The students performed for Mayer, who then gave them his expert opinion. Mayer assured these youths that his own creative process when crafting a song is far from flawless. “It's messy, it's sloppy,” he said. “The song is the only thing in the world that exists until it's done,” and “(a finished song) is like a plate of sashimi, but the kitchen is a mess.”

SUCH A MENSCH: New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft popped over to the Israeli Air Force's Tel Nof Air Base through a trip organized by Friends of the Israel Defense Forces. And he wasn't the only NFL representative there to meet with some of the country's top pilots and check out the base. Kraft was accompanied by 18 NFL Hall of Famers: Lem Barney, Jerome Bettis, Jim Brown, Cris Carter, Dave Casper, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Joe Greene, Willie Lanier, Joe Montana, Andre Reed, Mike Singletary, Bruce Smith, John Stallworth, Roger Staubach, Andre Tippett, Aeneas Williams

and Ron Yary. Now the question is, did Kraft have

to check all of those rings, or was he able to stash them in his carry-on? A PLACE TO COME

THROUGH: At the Theatre District joint Abby Lane, a lucky group of

103.3 AMP Radio listeners were treated to a private concert from singersongwriter Khalid. The intimate audience collected for Khalid's live performance that closed with his now Double Platinum single “Location.” If you missed out, don't sulk. Khalid is coming back to Boston to play the House

of Blues on Lansdowne Aug. 6.
