THE DONALD’S CLUBS CAN BE YOURS

-

You could be the proud owner of a set of golf clubs once swung by Donald Trump and gifted to former caddie Andrew Lombardo that is now up for grabs through the North End’s RR Auction.

“The set of TaylorMade TP Rac’s with (D. Trump) engraved on them were given to Mr. Trump by the TaylorMade CEO Mark King at the TaylorMade Media Day we had at Trump National Golf Club - Bedminster when we became a TaylorMade club and the clubs were used by Mr. Trump for the rest of the season,” Lombardo wrote in a notarized letter that will also go to the highest bidder.

These clubs collected dust in the bag room as Trump moved on to a new set of TaylorMade irons, but Lombardo said he “knew the first set of irons were special and so beautiful, they were the only set of forged blades, the first set that TaylorMade gave to Mr. Trump and the only set that had (D. Trump) engraved on them.” Lombardo, who caddied for Trump from 2004 to 2008, said he waited for the perfect moment to ask whether he could take the clubs off Trump’s hands. With special permission from the head pro at the New Jersey golf club, Mickie Gallagher, Lombardo was able to take these babies home, where he’s been holding onto them since. Apparently, now — when Trump is about halfway through his first year as president — is the best moment for Lombardo to cash in. The ex-caddie, who left his job at Bedminster in 2008, said that Trump used these clubs while playing rounds with celebs, business execs and pro golfers. But, if the timeline didn’t tip you off, you should note that these clubs got no action since he’s been in the White House — despite his multiple golfing excursions to Florida that have drawn criticism from naysayers.

The bidding has been open since June 26, and you have until July 12 to make a hefty offer. They’re estimated to sell for $30,000, so get your credit card or second mortgage out.

Once they’re yours, you can install them in your home’s shrine to The Donald, melt them down in effigy or bust them out on the green to impress your conservative friends — the options are endless.
