Over his career, Hanley Ramirez (right) has made a habit out of playing his best baseball in august, September and October. Should the Red Sox expect him to carry them in the second half?

well, not exactly. His second-half numbers in the last four years haven't all been good. He's been placed on the disabled list at least once in each of the last three seasons, and three of his last five DL stints have been in august or September. Playing through shoulder discomfort, the Sox will hope for another second-half surge.
