Bella teases in-ring wedding
While everyone’s chatting about West Newbury native John Cena and his recent reemergence on RAW, his fiancee and fellow wrestler, Nikki Bella, has been busy teasing us about a possible WWE wedding.
On “The Bella Twins” YouTube channel, which Nikki shares with her sister Brie Bella, the “Total Divas” star posted a video of her answering Twitter fans’ questions. And one user put her on the spot, asking, “Are you going to get married on SmackDown Live?”
“As of now, no,” Bella said. “But in WWE, you never know what is going to happen.”
Accompanying her answer was ample eyebrow action that sure looked like she was suggesting something might be in the works.
In April, Cena publicly proposed to Bella after they won a match at WrestleMania 33. Call her sentimental, but Bella did specify on YouTube that she could see herself saying “I do” at WrestleMania 34, which is slated for April 8.
“If I was to get married in front of the WWE Universe, I think I might aim for WrestleMania,” she said in the video. “New Orleans might be a cool wedding. I guess we’ll see.”
Since becoming betrothed to The Champ, Bella has been in no rush to plan her nuptials.
“So the planning is going slow, but that’s okay,” she told People magazine in late May.
“I want the day we get married to be special, not like it’s another appearance,” she added. “I don’t want it to be like, ‘ We only have two days to do this.’ I want to enjoy it. I want to enjoy it in the weeks going into it, and also the weeks after.”
With more than eight months before the next WrestleMania show, Bella could certainly capitalize on that cushy lead time to check items off her wedding to-do list. At least when the stress of it all gets to her, she can take to the ring and smack someone with a chair — no questions asked.
That’s every bridezilla’s dream.
