Arlington man arrested second time on child porn count
An Arlington man arrested on child porn charges last summer was back in police custody yesterday after state and federal authorities raided his house and found evidence that he was still swapping obscene images of children online, authorities said.
Mason Lister, 22, was arrested yesterday and charged with possessing and distributing child pornography and committing a probation violation, according to Arlington police Chief Frederick Ryan. Lister’s bail was set at $25,000 cash during his arraignment yesterday in Cambridge District Court.
Arlington cops and members of the FBI’S Child Exploitation Task Force executing a search warrant at Lister’s Lancaster Road home said they discovered a cellphone with several images of child porn and evidence that he had been using the social networking website Skout. com to send and receive explicit images, Ryan said.
“The Arlington Police Department takes an extremely strong stance on child exploitation, and we dedicate resources to not only finding missing and exploited children, but also rooting out those who create, distribute, or possess depictions of child sexual abuse,” Ryan said in a statement. “We will continue to pursue these felons in an aggressive manner.”
Lister, who was ordered held on an open probation matter, was arrested and charged with two other childpornography-related charges last June after officers allegedly found he was trading obscene images of children via social media channels, including DropBox, Kik and Twitter.
If Lister is able to post bail, the judge required that he submit to GPS monitoring, not use the internet or have contact with children under 18.
