TWO GOOD!

SWEENEY AND MALONE NOON TODAY ON HERALD RADIO

- By HERALD STAFF

‘We have great guests who are always on guard for one of Sweeney’s barbs. Steve is hilarious.’ — JOE MALONE

Sweeney and Malone is not a funeral parlor in Dorchester. It’s a Herald Radio show starring Boston comedic legend Steve Sweeney and former state Treasurer Joe Malone, which airs Thursdays from noon to 2 p.m.

While the new, extended two-hour show focuses on politics and sports, it’s always about having some good laughs, according to the duo. “Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. was the fastest 60 minutes of my week,” Malone says of the show’s old one-hour format. “We have great guests who are always on guard for one of Sweeney’s barbs. Steve is hilarious.”

Sweeney adds, “I love working with Joe. He knows politics better than anyone I know. He’s great except when he breaks into song. Then get ready to turn the dial, it’s torture!”

Sweeney, who was raised in Charlestown, and Malone, who’s from Waltham, know Massachusetts inside and out. That gives them a unique perspective on the Bay State’s politics, sports and pop culture.

Join them at noon today and every Thursday.
