Filibustering on health

-

Rep. Jeffrey Sanchez, the new chairman of the Massachusetts House Ways and Means Committee, is just another pol (“New Ways and Means chair Sanchez talks health care reform,” July 21).

Asked whether the Legislature will act on a health care proposal within 60 days, as requested by Gov. Charlie Baker, Sanchez said he is “taking into consideration” what the various parties have to say, and so on.

Then, asked about Baker’s health-care financing proposals. Sanchez talked about the “impending cloud” in Washington over health care.

Neither of these answers is responsive to the questions. It seems that House Speaker Robert DeLeo has just appointed as chairman of Ways and Means another politician who knows how to say nothing. — Judy Millea, Lynnfield
