Players run Sox show
Get used to it — the players now run the show (“Blame Farrell for this,” July 25). They are the puppeteers who pull the strings of the manager.
In the modern day, a multitude of spoiled ballplayers expect a pat on the butt instead of a kick in the butt, demand sweet nothings instead of discipline and expect the media to ignore baseball sins.
Herald columnist Steve Buckley targets Sox manager John Farrell. No question Farrell, a players’ manager, will bend over backwards and do flips to “cover” for his players even when common sense tells you that David Price — an overpaid, underachieving, wannabe leader — was way out of line when he disrespected Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley on a team flight.
