Emily D. Caleskie, at 90, of Duxbury, secretary

Emily D. Caleskie of Duxbury died Monday. She was 90.

She was born in Belleville, N.J., and was a 1944 graduate of Belleville High School.

Mrs. Caleskie was a secretary for Mutual Benefit Insurance Co. until 1950.

She was a later employed as a civil service secretary while her husband served in the Marine Corps.

Mrs. Caleskie lived in Connecticu­t, Missouri and Milford before moving to Duxbury in 1967.

She was involved in her community and served as the Unitarian Universali­st church secretary from 1970 to 1994 and sang in the choir for many years.

She was awarded the Presidenti­al Lifetime Service Award in 1995 for her involvemen­t with the Girl Scouts, Pine Street Inn, Jordan Hospital, Duxbury Rural and Historical Society, King Caesar House, Appalachia Service Project, Duxbury Thrift Shop and Duxbury Senior Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Irene Heinert of Sturgis, S.D., and Debra Jewell of Cohasset; a sister, Phyllis Parillo of Hobe Sound, Fla.; four grandchild­ren, two great-grandchild­ren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon tomorrow at Holy Family Church, Duxbury.

Interment will be in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
