NOTEWORTHY

One of the highlights of the day was a nice grab by Malcolm Mitchell, who participated in 11-on-11s for the first time since July 27. The pass came from Tom Brady, who placed it perfectly for his wide receiver down the left sideline as he toasted Stephon Gilmore and Devin McCourty in coverage.

That play came two plays after a nice play by Gilmore, who broke up a pass from Brady to Brandin Cooks.

Julian Edelman made a nice diving grab over the middle on a pass from Brady.

Austin Carr dropped a pass in the end zone before Jonathan Jones broke up one to Danny Amendola.

Tight end Jacob Hollister was lit up on a pass he dropped from Jimmy Garoppolo. He was attended to by trainers after.

The sequence on the three straight incompletions to end Garoppolo's day: One was broken up by Will Likely on a pass to Rob Gronkowski before Gronk made an uncharacteristic drop. Then, Garoppolo misfired on a ball to Mitchell.

At one point during practice, Brady was joined by Cooks, Mitchell, Edelman and Gronkowski on the near practice field to go through some light route-running drills.

Linebacker Elandon Roberts showed some impressive lateral movement as he sealed the edge on a sweep play to Brandon Bolden.

Patrick Chung had two pass breakups.

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy was in the house as a special guest to practice.
