QB CORNER

-

TOM BRADY: The Texans defense was stingy with Brady. There was very little space in the passing game, and the incompletions were because the Texans forced Brady to make tough throws. But the Texans never fully shut down Brady's group of starters, save for one period. Brady and Rob Gronkowski connected for a 30-yard post against Andre Hal, and Brady delivered a beautiful ball to Julian Edelman for a 20-yard gain on a flag route. Edelman added a 20-yard touchdown catch when he beat double coverage to the left corner of the end zone. The highlight of the day came on a 50-yarder to Chris Hogan against double coverage that set up a field goal in the two-minute offense. Brady was 18-of-27 in team drills with completions to Gronkowski (five), Hogan (five), Edelman (four), Rex Burkhead (one), Malcolm Mitchell (one), Dion Lewis (one) and Brandon Bolden (one).

JIMMY GAROPPOLO: He was 12-of-21 in team drills, and he was streaky. He opened by completing two of his first 10 passes, but he was 10-of-11 to close the final two periods in the hurry-up offense. Once again, Garoppolo was at his best when it mattered most, as those late practice periods are meaningful to the teams. He completed passes to Mitchell (four), Danny Amendola (three), Burkhead (two), Devin Lucien (one) and Austin Carr (one). Amendola had a drop.

JACOBY BRISSETT: Was 2-of-5 in his lone period against thirdstringers. Jacob Hollister and Austin Carr caught the passes.
