Dare to dream: How would you spend a Lottery jackpot?

- By JORDAN FRIAS — jordan.frias@bostonherald.com

As word spread yesterday that the winning $758.7 million Powerball ticket was sold right here in the Bay State, people in the Hub couldn’t help but imagine what they’d do if they were the recipient of the cash windfall. Here’s a sampling of the first three things people said they’d do with the money.

LEE FERNANDES 46, of Franklin

“I’d pay everything off, take care of my friends and take care of my family.”

AL FERNANDES 50, of Milford

“First thing I would do is donate to charity, donate money to the Children’s Hospital, pay off whatever I have left off, like my home and stuff like that, and then take care of my kids and family.”

SCOTT BENSON 35, of Quincy

“Take care of my mother, take care of my father, and then myself. I’d probably buy an island.”

GRACE KULEGIAN 63, of Franklin

“Take my family to Armenia for a trip, put money aside for my children and their children’s future and give a lot away and start a lot of foundations.”

MEGAN LEMAY 28, of New Hampshire

“I’d quit my job, pay off my student loans, go shopping — big-time shopping — and maybe buy a car, too.”

CORRIN LAUGHLIN 22, of Wrentham

“I’d move out of the country, probably to Europe; I’d buy a new car and get a bunch of dogs — lots of dogs.”

VERENA LOSKARN 23, of Germany

“I’d fly home, study medicine and help the world.”
