10 MUST-SEE GAMES

(In chronological order)

SEPT. 2: Alabama vs. Florida State at Atlanta — These very well may be the two best teams in the country, and you could see a rematch down the line in the College Football Playoff.

SEPT. 9: Oklahoma at Ohio State — Another pair of teams with solid chances to make it into the final four, Oklahoma will be looking to avenge last year's dominant win by the Buckeyes in Norman.

SEPT. 16: Texas at USC — This will be new Texas coach Tom Herman's first chance at a statement game, and USC quarterback Sam Darnold will get a shot to put his Heisman campaign into full swing.

SEPT. 16: Notre Dame at BC — The Eagles always have an extra bit of juice in their step for this one, and Steve Addazio may have his most complete roster at BC yet. There is upset potential here.

SEPT. 23: UMass at Tennessee — The Minutemen have built their FBS identity on challenging schedules. This is another example, as they will travel to one of the game's great cathedrals in Neyland Stadium.

OCT. 28 Penn State at Ohio State — The Big Ten East division contains three heavyweights in these two squads and Michigan. This matchup gets the nod simply because of how much each team returns.

NOV. 4 Oklahoma at Oklahoma State — Cowboys coach Mike Gundy has the best mullet in the game and his best team since 2011. This game should decide the Big XII title and a potential playoff berth.

NOV. 11 Florida State at Clemson — You could argue that the game of the year in the ACC may be between FSU and Louisville. But reigning national champion Clemson will have final say on that.

NOV. 18 BC vs. UConn at Fenway Park — This headliner of three New England-centric games, the football atmosphere at the home of the Red Sox has become one of the better experiences in the region.

NOV. 25 Alabama at Auburn — Although the SEC lately has basically turned into the Crimson Tide and the 13 dwarves, Auburn poses a real threat, and wild things tend to happen at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
