William R. Tittle, teacher, resident of Dudley, at 68

William R. “Bill” Tittle of Dudley died Wednesday at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridg­e from cancer. He was 68.

He was born in Southbridg­e and was raised in Dudley where he lived most of his life.

He was a 1967 graduate of the former Marian Hill Catholic High School in Southbridg­e and later graduated from Providence College, Nichols College and Worcester State College and attended Clark University.

Mr. Tittle was employed as a teacher.

He enjoyed playing his guitar and bringing it to Mason Road School and Shepherd Hill Regional High School where he taught history until retirement in 2016 after 20 years.

He enjoyed visiting Mayflower Beach in Dennis, his trip to Ireland, his yard and gardens and his vineyard “The Vineyard at Sawmill Rd.”

His best buddies were his labs Dante and Abbie.

Mr. Tittle is survived by his wife for 43 years, Jane M. (Meehan); three sons, Chris J. and Matt W. of Leicester and Jonathan D. of Brimfield; three sisters, Brenda Martin of Ohio, Debbe Makowski of Webster and Paula Gaudet of Old Lyme, Conn.; two brothers, David and Brian of Charlton and four grandchild­ren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Dudley. Burial will be private. Arrangemen­ts by Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, Webster.
