- By ANTONIO PLANAS

A Boston man is being charged in a weekend stabbing spree that left three men wounded in Cambridge and Boston, police said.

Davongie Stone, 20, was arrested by Boston police’s Fugitive Apprehension Team near the Boston Common yesterday.

Police said the stabbing incidents began late Saturday night in Harvard Square.

The first assault occurred about 10:30 p.m., Cambridge police said. A Cambridge man told cops he was crossing the street at Eliot and Bennett streets “when a male came up behind him, grabbed him and struck him in the back of the head. The victim sustained a non-lifethreatening cut — believed to be a possible stab wound — and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”

The second incident happened 10 to 15 minutes later in the area of JFK Park, police said.

In that attack, “an Arlington resident reported receiving a slash-type wound to the lower side of his back. The victim left work and began walking toward JFK Park to smoke a cigarette. He stated he was focused on his cellphone when a male, who was with a group of three other individuals, reportedly stabbed him in the back and punched him in the face,” cops said.

In Boston at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a man was stabbed in the area of Washington and Winter streets and had life-threatening injuries, police said.

Stone faces two counts of armed assault with intent to murder in Cambridge.

In Boston, Stone is charged with assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and intent to rob while armed.

Stone is expected to be arraigned today in Boston Municipal Court on the Boston charges. He also faces arraignment in Cambridge on the two stabbings there.
