Light (blindside protector): “It was definitely an exciting year from camp all the way to the end. I don’t know that we knew from the outset our offense was going to be record-setting or transcend how we did things, as opposed to how we were doing things. We do evolve, but the offense of New England has always been a product of who’s available and game plan week to week vs. what’s been working and what hasn’t. It’s so multi-faceted how we do what we do, and the different ways in which we can do it. But probably by about halfway through the season, I feel as though there was this sense (that) as long as we don’t screw it up, there’s not too many people that can stop us.

“And that was the reality. When you have a quarterbac­k who can deliver the ball basically where he wants, and gets rid of it quickly, and you have receivers who are really good at getting open, and know the expectatio­ns, and are at the spot the quarterbac­k wants them to be, it’s hard to not have success. We had teams do some things and go crazy, whether it was (the Jets) and it was all-out blitzing, trying to throw the kitchen sink at you and force you into certain things, but we always had an answer. I wouldn’t say that we felt like we were unstoppabl­e, but all things considered, we knew we had a pretty good team halfway through. I feel like we all understood that, but it wasn’t apparent in the beginning.”

Harrison (safety): “We felt like we had a special team, but it wasn’t talked about. I thought we were incredibly focused, very humble, but very aware of how good we were.
