Loser RINOs still win jobs from gov
Spot them at the Baker-Polito picnic
If you’re a local Republican hack with a phony-baloney state job that you want to keep, you had damn well better be in Shrewsbury tomorrow afternoon.
Actually, if you are a GOP payroll patriot, chances are you already live in Shrewsbury, just like Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito and the hack Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Matt Beaton, and a whole host of other beneficiaries of nationwide searches.
Polito and Beaton, both of whom were state reps, are expecting you at the “BakerPolito End of Summer Picnic” at SAC Park from noon until 3.
“We can’t close the book on summer,” Polito wrote in her email invitations to the hackerama, “before taking time to thank our closest supporters.”
Isn’t every payday a big enough kiss for these payroll Charlies?
The current GOP godfather, Gov. Charlie Baker, is a Republican In Name Only, a RINO’s RINO. As such, he’s behaving like a Democrat, appointing his cronies to noheavy-lifting, six-figure jobs — at least as long as they give him enough money.
And it also doesn’t hurt to remember tomorrow’s hostess with the most-est, Karyn Polito.
C’mon down, John Englander, nominated this week for a state appellate court judgeship. Judges are, of course, appointed by the governor, and Englander has been duking governors and wannabes as far back as 2005 — Tom Reilly, Mitt Romney, Marsha Coakley and finally, Tall Deval.
The press release from Tall Deval’s office calls future judge Englander “an outstanding litigator,” which is odd, because you’d think an “outstanding litigator” wouldn’t want to be taking a pay cut to retire to a judgeship, even though a slot on the appeals court requires even less effort than a district court job, which comes with 17 weeks off (in one way or another) every year.
In all, Englander has given $2,000 to Baker, as well as another $500 to Miss Shrewsbury, Karyn Polito.
So he’s the GOP hack du jour. Last week it was Dan Grabauskas, the former GOP candidate for state treasurer. You see, it’s very important for the party to take care of its defeated candidates. Take Rich Bastien, ex-state rep. He’s now director of state cemeteries for $79,170 a year. You might say he’s buried there.
Another loser for treasurer was Mike Heffernan. He’s now making $161,000 a year working for Tall Deval. John Chapman ran for Congress against Bill Keating. He’s up to $145,000 a year.
As for Karyn Polito, she’s more of a Joe Malone-style hack. Take this Nick Panarelli guy — I guarantee you he’ll be at SAC Park tomorrow, probably behind the wheel of a DCR golf cart.
His family owned the Lakeside Bar & Grill in, you guessed it, Shrewbury. It was a nice place for a “time,” if you know what I mean, especially if your name is Polito or Tall Deval.
He also worked as a volunteer for Beaton and was rewarded with a job at, where else, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, which is the new name for the old Metropolitan District Commission. Panarelli vanished from the DCR payroll last month after inquiries were made about his, ahem, educational credentials.
So tomorrow’s the big day in Shrewsbury. Be there or be … working for a living in the Dreaded Private Sector.
