East Boston girls soccer tops Chelsea

Andrea Vasquez and Heidy Delcid each tallied second-half goals to lift East Boston (1-0) over Chelsea, 2-1, in an nonleague girls soccer match yesterday.

In the Catholic Central Conference, freshman Erin Gore netted five goals for Marian in a 11-0 rout of Cristo Rey.

In Middlesex League action, Annie Wingate scored twice to lead Wilmington (22) over Melrose, 3-0.

In the Cape Ann League, Sami Kelleher netted a hat trick and Cricket Good added a goal and three assists for Newburypor­t (3-1) in a 7-0 rout of Ipswich . . . . Triton (1-1-1) prevailed over Georgetown, 2-0, behind a goal and an assist each from Meredith Kennedy and Julia Boyle.

Boys soccer

Jake Mazzocca scored the lone goal as Xaverian (2-0) took a 1-0 victory over Bridgewate­r-Raynham in nonleague action.

In a Commonweal­th Athletic Conference contest, Lukas Drahos scored four goals as Mystic Valley (4-0) blanked Whittier, 6-0.

Field hockey

In a Hockomock League contest, Shannon Cormier finished with two goals and an assist, while Danielle Fokas netted the game-winner as Milford (1-3) edged Stoughton, 4-3.

In Patriot League action, Maeve Reynolds recorded a hat trick to pace Plymouth North (3-1) to a 5-0 win over Whitman-Hanson . . . . Lilly Krahmer scored twice and Abby Krahmer got her first varsity goal as Duxbury (2-1) defeated Silver Lake, 7-1.

Brooke Findlay scored two goals for Lincoln-Sudbury (4-0) and preserved the shutout by playing goalie in the second half in a 7-0 Dual County League win over Newton South.

Madison Ahern scored two goals in the second half as Notre Dame-Hingham (21) took down nonleague opponent Scituate, 3-1.

Girls volleyball

In Boston City League action, Ciliana Taveras turned in six kills and six aces to pace East Boston (2-0) to a 3-0 sweep of Brighton.

Jenna Tobin recorded nine aces to lead the way for Lynn Classical (1-3) in a 3-0 sweep of Saugus in Northeaste­rn Conference play.

In Catholic Central action, Katrina Perez (25 assists), Hannah Brady (eight kills) and Kristen O’Keefe (nine kills) led the way in a 3-0 sweep for Arlington Catholic (3-0) over Cardinal Spellman.

Lily Fitzgerald posted five kills and 23 assists as Melrose (4-0) rolled by Notre Dame-Hingham, 3-0, in nonleague competitio­n.

Alexis Lundgren produced six kills and 15 digs for Bristol-Plymouth (3-1) in a 3-0 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Blue Hills.
