The stars come out for TV’s biggest night. Carol Burnett, James Corden, Viola Davis, Norman Lear and Shailene Woodley are just a few of the celebs slated to present at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards (Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS). Stephen Colbert hosts.

This sounds like the plot of a Stephen King novel: “Something’s Killing Me” (Sunday at 9 p.m. on HLN) examines a rare genetic disorder that prevents those afflicted from sleeping. As the person gets older, the disease progresses until the insomnia causes death. During the hour, a group of family members are tested to see if they have inherited the disease.

Humanity makes its last stand on the series finale of “The Strain” (Sunday at 10 p.m. on FX). Quinlan formulates a risky plan, Fet goes on a suicide mission and Dutch and Gus brace for the final battle against the Master and his minions. Blood will be spilled.

“Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall” (Sunday at 10 p.m. on Investigation Discovery) hits close to home. Hall reports on the murder of a Granby paramedic and mother who was found covered in paint in the basement of her home.

Decades celebrates the 45th anniversary of “The Bob Newhart Show” with a weekend binge starting tomorrow at 1 p.m. and running through Monday at 7 a.m. In a statement, Newhart said, “At 88, I am not sure I’ll be able to stay awake through all 84 episodes. I’m very proud of the show and touched by the recognition it’s receiving on Decades.” Oh, Bob.
