Pignone lifts Stoneham

SCHOOLS

The senior standout rushed for 302 yards on the ground and four touchdowns, carrying Stoneham (2-0) to a 36-14 victory over Arlington in a Middlesex League crossover contest last night.

Darren Watson ran for 147 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, while Jake McElroy added a pair of scores as North Andover (20) shut out Haverhill, 20-0, in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

In other action, Matt McCarthy ripped off a 50yard touchdown run with less than three minutes to play as Danvers (2-0) defeated Peabody, 7-0, in the Northeaste­rn Conference. ... Keith Ridley completed 9-of-12 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns as Lynn Classical (2-0) rolled to a 40-7 win over Malden.

Walker Bartkiewic­z booted a game-winning 25-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to give Newburypor­t (1-1) a 10-7 triumph over Ipswich in the Cape Ann League . . . . Cam Peach hauled in six receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns to lead Hamilton-Wenham (20) to a 28-14 victory over North Reading.

Will Garcia ran for a career-high 304 yards and four touchdowns as Old Rochester (2-0) defeated Apponequet, 30-0, in the South Coast Conference. . . . Issac Nascimento threw for three scores and ran for a fourth as Wareham (1-1) rolled to a 40-0 win over Bourne.

Ethan Curtin ran for a pair of scores as Abington (1-1) defeated Rockland, 28-0, in the South Shore League . . . . Ben Bostrom and Bryce Griffin each ran for a pair of touchdowns as Norwell (2-0) knocked off Cohasset, 28-7.

Bryce Latosek completed 14-of-19 passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns as Millis (1-1) handled Norton, 41-21, in the Tri-Valley League . . . . Mitchell Gonser threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, lifting Medfield (2-0) to a 43-36 victory over Ashland . . . . Ryan Kelleher completed 10-of-12 passes for 268 yards and five touchdowns as Hopkinton (2-0) coasted to a 42-0 win over Medway.

Ezra Howell returned an intercepti­on 70 yards for the game-winning score as Madison Park (1-0) defeated O’Bryant, 12-8 . ... Brandon Ortega ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries as East Boston (2-0) defeated West Roxbury, 30-0.

Christian Keeling scored twice as West Bridgewate­r (1-1) beat South Shore, 36-21, in the Mayflower League.

Rob Evans was electric for Dennis-Yarmouth (20), racking up 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns on seven carries in a 4828 nonleague victory over Plymouth North (1-1) . . . . Calvin Johnson scored four times for St. Mary’s (2-0) in a 50-8 victory over Marian/Keefe Tech . ... Richard White picked up his 100th career win as Dartmouth (11) edged Attleboro, 6-0.

In other nonleague games, Sal Lupoli carried the ball 21 times for 126 yards and four touchdowns to lead Chelmsford (2-0) to a 42-0 victory over Westford Academy . ... Nick McDermott threw five touchdown passes as Watertown (2-0) defeated Plymouth South, 48-29 . . . . Anthony Murphy tied the score on a 2-yard run, then added the game-winning conversion rush to give Lynnfield (2-0) a 28-26 win over Wayland.

Peter Sawyer ran for two scores and threw for a third as Lowell Catholic (2-0) defeated Georgetown, 220 . . . . Jeremy Soule ran for three scores as Middleboro (2-0) handled Archbishop Williams, 34-12 . . . . Devin Proulx ran for 192 yards and two touchdowns, while picking off a pass as Case (2-0) defeated Diman, 40-8.

Devan Harrison threw for 220 yards and five scores as Pope John Paul (2-0) rolled to a 48-8 win over Monomoy . . . . Rosen Pierre rushed for a pair of scores as Brockton (1-1) defeated Weymouth, 27-10 . ... Southeaste­rn (1-1) received rushing touchdowns from Mailk Pina, Kyle Burns and Ryan Kinney in a 22-0 win over Upper Cape.

Luke Cloud threw a 20yard touchdown pass to Lucas Lopez with 40 seconds left as Newton South (2-0) trimmed Brookline, 6-0 . . . . Tyler Martel ran for three scores as Dedham (1-1) defeated Bishop Fenwick, 2012 . . . . Vinnie Gaskins ran for 152 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries to spark Salem (2-0) past Essex Tech, 36-0 . ... John Kenny ran for 215 yards and three touchdowns as Wilmington (2-0) cruised past Bedford, 41-13.

Sal Frelick threw two TD passes and scampered 74 yards for a third score as Lexington (2-0) held off Concord-Carlisle, 31-26 . . . . Braden O’Connell threw for 141 yards and three scores to lead Lincoln-Sudbury (2-0) past Holliston, 42-14.

Field hockey

In South Coast Conference play, Megan Salsinha and Lucas Crook combined for five goals while Cami Crook assisted on four markers in Somerset Berkley’s (4-0) 8-0 decision over Seekonk . ... Elizabeth Lepage collected three points — a pair of goals and an assist — to help Case top Wareham, 5-0.

Freshman Niki Micciche finished with two goals, as Winchester (4-0) remained undefeated with a 3-0 victory over Middlesex League rival Lexington.

In the Bay State Conference, sophomore Chloe Schneiderm­an accounted for most of the damage, scoring a goal while also posting an assist to give Framingham (2-1-1) a 3-0 win over Weymouth.

Boys soccer

Nick Lynch extended his goal scoring streak to four games, and Peter Dalimonte netted the game-winner for Hingham (4-0) in a 2-1 win over Patriot League rival Whitman-Hanson.

In a nonleague tilt, Jackson Nickolau scored the game’s lone tally, lifting St. Mary’s (L) (5-0) to a 1-0 win over St. Joseph’s Prep.

Girls soccer

Junior forward Deina Lopes posted a hat trick while dishing out two assists as Boston Internatio­nal (2-0) ran away with a 6-2 rout of Cathedral in a City League game . . . . Junior Andrea Vasquez notched a hat trick as East Boston (2-0, 1-0) defeated Brighton, 4-2.

Bella Ercel netted a pair as Newton South (4-1) downed Bedford 4-0 in the Dual County League.

Sophomore Ellen Cotton found the back of the net twice, propeling St. Joseph’s Prep (2-1) to a 2-0 triumph over Mt. Alvernia in a Catholic Central tilt.

Molly MacFarland led the attack with a pair of goals as Sandwich prevailed, 4-0, over Carver in a nonleague contest.
