Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center will be hosting a career fair open house Oct. 4, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Oct. 11, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at their newly renovated location at 100 N. Beacon St. in Brighton. With the opening of the new Nursing and Therapy Center, hiring quality employees in all areas is a top priority.

Russ Averna, vice president of Human Resources, Part- ners Continuing Care, said the Spaulding facility in Brighton will be a skilled nursing facility of 123 beds, which will consolidate the staff and residents from two facilities — West Roxbury and the North End. Those teams will be coming together and, along with new hires, care for the Spaulding Brighton residents.

Spaulding is hosting the open house “to expand the talented, caring, dedicated team to care for the 123 residents at the new facility. New hires will have the best of both worlds — joining colleagues that have worked together, some for decades, and others coming together for the first time. New employees will be able to take advantage of the team’s experience in providing excellent patient care, help shape the culture and work processes in the new facility, and do so without the challenge that sometimes comes from being the only new person. Additionally, this open house will provide a chance for potential hires to see the facility and resources before patients move in,” said Averna.

Opportunities are available for clinical staff such as Registered Nurses, CNAs and LPNs as well as candidates for roles in environmental services, in food and nutrition, and a few other disciplines. If you or anyone you know is interested in a career with Spaulding, please contact them at 617952-6740 or SpauldingJobs@partners.org.

As a former Brighton resident, Averna hopes this new center will be a great addition to Brighton’s vibrant community: “We want to be good neighbors in terms of being respectful of the neighborhood, especially given its parking constraints. We plan to be able to bring jobs to both the students and people who have lived here for decades and provide them with a great professional experience that is personally rewarding and allows for work-life balance, made easier by working close to home. This is so important. We also look forward to partnering with area schools so we can give local students onthe-job experience.”

Although Spaulding needs to focus on putting together its care team at this time, Averna says in the future there will be opportunities for individuals who want to volunteer and give back to their community; interested individuals are welcome to get in touch.
