Cohasset remains unbeaten

Jay Frederick had a goal and assist and Cam Patterson added two assists as Cohasset remained unbeaten after seven games thanks to yesterday’s 3-1 South Shore League boys soccer win over Mashpee.

Also in the SSL, Nick Ramos scored twice as Middleboro (6-3) defeated Rockland, 3-0.

Liam Merlin scored first and Jay Zampitella added the game-winner with 15 minutes remaining as Reading edged Belmont, 2-1, in a Middlesex League clash.

Kevin Aroke garnered a pair of goals to pace Peabody (4-1-1) to a 3-1 win over Marblehead in the Northeaste­rn Conference.

Jonathan Luders and Nathan Bass each scored to pace Lynnfield (4-1-1) to a 2-0 nonleague victory over Haverhill. . . . Alex Joyce scored twice and Liam Barrett recorded 10 saves to lead Malden Catholic

(2-3) past Saugus, 4-0.

Girls soccer

Madison Blonde scored five goals and Grace Oliver recorded her 100th career point to pace Rockland (70) past Middleboro, 7-0, in the South Shore League .. . . Kristi Viera scored a pair of goals to fuel Norwell (7-0-1) to a 6-0 win over Hull.

In Boston City League play, Grace Burns scored as O’Bryant (3-5) beat Burke, 1-0. ... Deina Lopes had a hat trick and Catia Marques scored as Boston Internatio­nal (6-0) toppled West Roxbury, 4-0.

Carey Allard scored twice as Belmont (6-0) beat Reading, 2-1, in the Middlesex League.

In Catholic Conference play, Katie Regan scored to lift Arlington Catholic (4-2-1) past Cardinal Spellman, 1-0.

Field hockey

Meg Arnett’s first-half tally held up as Pentucket (3-2) edged Ipswich, 1-0, in the Cape Ann League.
