Prescott lifts ’Boys by Cards

-

Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes and flipped head over heels into the end zone on a 10-yard run for another as the Dallas Cowboys pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Arizona Cardinals, 2817, last night in Glendale, Ariz.

The Cowboys (21) began the game kneeling at midfield with owner Jerry Jones in a show of unity.

Prescott, 13-of-18 for 183 yards, broke a 14-14 tie with a 37-yard scoring pass to Brice Butler with 11:52 to go.

• Eagles running back Darren Sproles tore his ACL and broke his wrist on the same play in Sunday’s 27-24 win over the Giants. He is lost for the season.

Two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (calf) and starting linebacker Jordan Hicks (ankle) also were injured. Both players are day to day.

• Results from an MRI showed Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has no structural damage to his left knee. Benjamin’s status will be day-to-day. Carolina plays the Patriots Sunday.

• Bears safety Quintin Demps suffered a broken arm in the 23-17 win over Pittsburgh. He is out indefinitely.

• The 49ers placed defensive lineman Tank Carradine on injured reserve with an ankle injury. The Niners then signed linebacker Mark Nzeocha from the Cowboys practice squad.

• Colts coach Chuck Pagano said there’s a chance Andrew Luck could return to practice tomorrow, though Pagano already ruled his QB out of Sunday night’s game at Seattle.

Still, it would be a major milestone in Luck’s recovery from offseason shoulder surgery. The franchise quarterback missed all of the team’s offseason workouts, all of training camp and the entire preseason before he was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Sept. 2.

Luck had surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.
