Mateo, Spartans perfectly good

The St. Mary’s boys soccer team maintained its perfect record yesterday with a 4-0 blowout win against Arlington Catholic, and keeper Richie Mateo notched his 10th shutout of the season. The Spartans improved to 11-0 overall and 7-0 in the Catholic Central League.

SCHOOLS

In the Tri-Valley League, Holliston (7-2) gave Norton its first loss as keeper Jake Heihsel preserved the 2-1 decision, turning away a promising chance with under five minutes to play.

Cam Pattison scored a goal and provided four helpers for Cohasset (10-0) in an 8-0 blasting of Hull in the South Shore League.

Ludvig Smidl notched his second hat trick of the season as Duxbury (7-0-1) downed Plymouth North, 4-1, in the Patriot League.

In his first career start, Max Loeb made five saves for the shutout as BC High (4-5) beat Xaverian, 2-0, in the Catholic Conference . . . . Alex Joyce found the back of the net for the ninth time on the season, and Malden Catholic (3-4-1) knocked off Catholic Memorial, 1-0.

Girls soccer

Marina Duffy and McKenna O’Neil powered the offense with two goals apiece as West Bridgewate­r (3-4-1) cruised to a 7-0 rout of Bishop Connolly in the Mayflower Conference.

Cleusa Rodrigues tallied a goal and an assist as Boston Internatio­nal (9-0) blanked Madison Park, 5-0, in the Boston City League. . . . Grace Burns and Alejandro Ochoa handled the scoring as O’Bryant (4-6) beat Snowden, 2-0, in the Boston City League.

In the Catholic Central League, Maddy Courtney’s goal was the difference as Arlington Catholic (5-3-2) slipped past St. Mary’s, 1-0.

Field hockey

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Dana Swartz found the cage twice to lead a five-goal barrage in the opening half as North Andover (7-1-1) toppled Tewksbury, 5-0.

Elizabeth Lepage posted a hat trick, leading Case to a 4-0 shutout of Wareham in the South Coast Conference.

Rachel Gittings registered a goal and an assist as Medway (6-2-1) shut out Holliston, 2-0, in the TriValley League.
