New Democrat mantra: Let’s repeal the Second Amendment!

Yeah, that’s the ticket. A year of fake news about Russia-Russia-Russia has turned out to be a total nonstarter for them, so this could be the Democrats’ real path back to power, even more popular than refusing to stand for the national anthem.

This latest Democrat trial balloon was floated yesterday by a “conservative” columnist in The New York Times named Bret Stephens, who may be even more “conservative” than David Brooks.

Funny, but less than 15 months ago, Stephens was tweeting out: “Prediction: In two years Europeans will clamor for their own 2nd Amendment.”

But that was then, and this is now, post-Las Vegas, and if there’s one thing “conservatives” in The New York Times must do, it’s to attack anything that deplorables support, even if it’s the Bill of Rights.

This proposal to abolish the Second Amendment was floated a day after a story about how six Democrat senators up for re-election next year in deep-red states have basically gone MIA on the massacre, lest they say something about guns that could be used against them by a Republican challenger in 2018.

The internet yesterday was full of imagined ads a Republican could run on the Second Amendment repeal effort: “Sen. (fill in the blank) is a moderate — he only wants to take away 10 percent of your Bill of Rights.”

Can someone say, “Republican super majority in 2019?”

For almost 60 years, pollsters have been asking Americans if they are in favor of banning handguns. Support for a handgun prohibition peaked at 60 percent — in 1959. Now it’s down to 23 percent.

One of the alt-left’s arguments this week against the Second Amendment is that the Founding Fathers, say James Madison, could have never envisioned an AR-15 rifle. So what?

Weren’t these same trust-funded pajama boys telling us just a few days ago that most of the people who wrote the Constitution were slave owners, and not only should we not care about what they say, but we should tear down any and all statues of them?

But consistency, as Emerson once said, is the hobgoblin of small minds.

Talk about 1 percenters — these pampered pukes know no deplorables. So against all evidence, they have convinced themselves that only white people care about the Second Amendment.

In fact, they believe that only white people are mass murderers.

Do you doubt me? Google “white” and “serial killers” and see what turns up. Here’s a few headlines from the last 72 hours:

Is that what you call “racial profiling?” Is this “hate speech?”

Where is the Southern Poverty Law Center when you really need them?
