Abercrombie moved to Atlanta for rehab
Harvard football player Ben Abercrombie is being transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Ga., for continued rehabilitation of the serious neck injury he sustained in the season opener.
His father, Marty Abercrombie, wrote on CaringBridge.com, “Ben, Sherri and me take the next step on this journey (Wednesday) as we travel to Atlanta and Ben is admitted to the Shepherd Center. Thanks to the Shepherd Center, the RICU at Rhode Island Hospital, BCBS of Alabama and AirMed of Birmingham for making this transfer happen to quickly.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Andrew Wiggins to a new contract extension yesterday, agreeing on a five-year, $148 million deal with no player option.
It puts a big piece of business to rest after the situation dragged out for most of the summer. The 22-year-old Wiggins averaged 23.6 points per game in his third season in the league. The former No.1 overall pick has cemented himself as one of the building blocks of an up-and-coming franchise.

Italian tennis player Fabio Fognini was handed a suspended ban of two Grand Slam tournaments for insulting a chair umpire at the U.S. Open.
The Grand Slam board said Fognini will be suspended from participating in two major tournaments, one of which will be the U.S. Open, if he commits another major offense before the end of 2019.
