Mashpee gets its revenge

-

Maybe I should not have whined so much about seven-win weeks.

This space dropped below its own personal Mendoza Line last week, cranking out a lowly six-win effort. A major part of the problem was not showing enough love to the Lynn schools — Lynn Classical and Lynn English. Both teams proved me wrong and sent me spiraling to my worst week of the season.

On to Week 6 (home teams in CAPS):

MASHPEE over Nantucket: Falcons avenge their only loss of 2016.

Marshfield over DENNISYARMOUTH: Rams capture the ACL title.

Central Catholic over LOWELL: Tough two-game stretch for the Red Raiders — first Everett, now Central Catholic.

Middleboro over NORWELL: Sachems have a few too many weapons.

BC HIGH over St. John’s Prep: Running game paves the way to victory once again for the Dorchester version of the Eagles.

North Attleboro over STOUGHTON: One day after committing to Amherst, Chad Peterson has another reason to celebrate.

NORTHEAST over Lynn Tech: Expecting a big effort from Don Heres’ crew in this Saturday morning special.

Governor’s Academy over ST. SEBASTIAN’S: Folks in Byfield, accustomed to me picking against them so often, are probably stunned that I am casting my lot with the Governors.

TEWKSBURY over Chelmsford: Redmen stay alive in their quest for a share of the MVC Small title.

MILTON ACADEMY over Belmont Hill: Mustangs stay in the hunt for a NEPSAC bowl bid. Last week: 6-4 Season to date: 34-16
