Thorbahn’s pick-6 sparks Bentley past AIC

Sophomore cornerback Peter Thorbahn of Norwell and Xaverian had two of his team’s three fourthquar­ter intercepti­ons, including the second pick-six of his career, as Bentley defeated American Internatio­nal College, 28-10, yesterday in a Northeast 10 Conference Division 2 football game in Waltham.

The Falcons (4-2, 4-1) benefited from three touchdowns produced by freshmen against the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 2-3).

Freshman Andrew Brazicki rushed for two TDs. Backup quarterbac­k Stephen Sturm threw his first career TD pass by hooking up with fellow freshman Austin Ryan of Foxboro on a 21-yarder. For Ryan, it was his team-leading sixth TD.

Merrimack 44, Pace 10 — Derrick Villard ran for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Warriors (2-4, 2-3 NE-10) topped the Setters (3-3, 2-3) in North Andover.

New Haven 23, Stonehill 22 — Ajee Patterson’s 48-yard touchdown pass to Damon Rodgers with 1:47 to play lifted the Chargers (5-1, 4-1 NE-10) over the Skyhawks (3-3, 2-3) in West Haven, Conn.

Assumption 55, Saint Anselm 10 — Marc Monks was 17-of-19 passing for 319 yards with four touchdowns and Ashton Grant caught six passes for 161 yards with two scores as the 17th-ranked Greyhounds (6-0, 5-0 NE-10) overwhelme­d the Hawks (0-6, 0-5) in Manchester, N.H.

Maine 51, URI 27 — Chris Ferguson threw for five TDs and Josh Mack rushed for 248 yards as the Black Bears (2-3, 1-3 Colonial Athletic Associatio­n) dominated the final two quarters to beat the Rams (1-5, 0-3) in Orono, Maine.

Stony Brook 38, UNH 24 — Joe Carbone threw two TD passes as the Seawolves (5-2, 4-1 CAA) rallied past the Wildcats (4-2, 2-1) in Stony Brook, N.Y.

Dartmouth 29, Sacred Heart 26 — Jack Heneghan threw four TD passes and the Big Green (5-0) extended their nonconfere­nce win streak to 10 games for the first time since 1956, beating the Pioneers (24) in Fairfield, Conn.

Yale 32, Holy Cross 0 — Kurt Rawlings threw for 316 yards as the Bulldogs (4-1) cruised to a nonconfere­nce win over visiting Crusaders (2-5) .

Princeton 53, Brown 0 — Charlie Volker’s 96-yard TD run sparked the Tigers (4-1, 1-1 Ivy League) by the host Bears (2-3, 0-2).

UConn 28, Temple 24 — In Philadelph­ia, Bryant Shirreffs threw for three touchdowns as the Huskies (24, 1-3) held off the Owls (3-4, 1-3) in American Athletic Conference play.

Trinity 23, Tufts 16 — Max Chipouras carried the ball 29 times for 165 yards with the winning score and Liam Kenneally of Reading had eight tackles, a sack and recovered a fumble to help the Bantams (5-0) beat the Jumbos (3-2) in Somerville.

Curry 40, Becker 0 — Alex Corvese completed 22-of-27 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns and Sean Amaru of Westwood ran for three scores as the Colonels (5-1, 1-0 CCC) beat the Hawks (0-6, 0-1) in Leicester.
