-

Ben Simmons had a triple-double in his fourth NBA game, Joel Embiid scored 30 points and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Pistons, 97-86, last night in Detroit, for their first win of the season.

Simmons had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, showing off the skill and versatility that made him the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft before he missed all of last season with a foot injury. He finished two assists shy of a triple-double in his previous game at Toronto.

Detroit, which rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the New York Knicks on Saturday night, fell behind by 21 again in the second quarter against the 76ers. The Pistons chipped away and were within three in the fourth, but Philadelphia held on.

Andre Drummond had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Pistons.

Warriors 133, Mavericks 103 — Stephen Curry scored 29 points, Kevin Durant added 25 and visiting Golden State pulled away from winless Dallas in the second half.

Curry was fined $50,000 for throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of an official during the final minute of Golden State’s loss at Memphis on Saturday night.

Also, teammate Andre Iguodala received a $15,000 fine for his response and “verbally abusing a game official” late in that game.

Heat 104, Hawks 93 — Josh Richardson scored 21 points, Wayne Ellington made six 3-pointers in the second quarter and host Miami wasted a 21-point lead before recovering to top Atlanta.

Bucks 103, Hornets 94 — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and 14 rebounds, and host Milwaukee scored the final nine points in a win over Charlotte.

Antetokounmpo was 13-for-21 from the field and 6-for-8 at the line. He also had six assists and blocked two shots.

Grizzlies 98, Rockets 90 — Marc Gasol scored 26 points to lead visiting Memphis past Houston.

The Grizzlies have won their first three games for the first time since the 2014-15 season when they won their opening six contests.

Spurs 101, Raptors 97 — LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 points and Dejounte Murray had 16 points and 15 rebounds and host San Antonio held on to top Toronto.

The Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker and the Raptors were missing Jonas Valanciunas.

Wizards 109, Nuggets 104 — Bradley Beal scored 20 points as all five starters reached double figures for visiting Wash- ington, which remained unbeaten by holding off Denver.

John Wall finished with 19 points as he struggled from the floor (3-of-13) but made up for it on the free throw line (13of-15). He added 12 assists as the Wizards improved to 3-0.

Suns 117, Kings 115 — Devin Booker scored 22 points, including two free throws with 9.8 seconds to play, and host Phoenix beat Sacramento for its first win of the season in its first game under interim coach Jay Triano.

Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe was sent home earlier in the day, one day after the Suns fired coach Earl Watson and replaced him with Triano. Bledsoe sent a tweet that read “Don’t wanna be here.”
