Murphy goals cap Medway’s title run

Abby Murphy scored twice on assists from Meghan Foley and Brenna Lorenzen as Medway clinched its fifth straight Tri-Valley League girls soccer title with a 2-0 victory yesterday over Ashland.

In other girls soccer action, Anissa Baptiste and Katherine Rodriguez each had a goal as O’Bryant (83) edged East Boston, 2-1, in the Boston City League.

Maria Pereira had a goal and Pope John (8-4-3) clinched its first tournament berth in five years with a 2-0 win over Matignon in the Catholic Central League.

In the Northeaste­rn Conference, Haley Bernhardt and Mackenzie Kearney each scored twice as Swampscott (9-5-1) defeated Medford, 4-1 . . . . Darcy Muller scored a pair of goals for Gloucester (10-5-1) in a 3-2 victory over Winthrop.

Boys soccer

In Boston City League action, Walter Flores scored twice as East Boston (11-02) beat O’Bryant, 5-2.

Steven Yakita’s 20th goal of the year fueled St. John’s Prep (13-0-3) to a 3-0 win over St. John’s Shrewsbury in the Catholic Conference.

In a South Shore League game, Cam Patterson had a hat trick to lead Cohasset (16-0-1) over Abington, 5-1.

Field hockey

Lily Gendron scored twice for Apponequet (85-1) as the Lakers blanked Bishop Feehan, 3-0, in a nonleague game . . . . Kara Desjarlais scored twice and had an assist to lead Somerset Berkley (17-0) over Durfee, 6-0.

Nicole Amyouny’s tally held up as Masconomet (123-2) edged Lynnfield, 1-0, in the Cape Ann League . . . . Kaley Lattof scored the lone goal to power Rockport (57-4) to a 1-0 triumph over Hamilton-Wenham . ... Grace MacDonald had a hat trick and assisted on two goals as Georgetown (4-9-2) rolled to an 8-1 win over Amesbury.

In a Dual County League showdown, Grace Blunt recorded her sixth shutout of the season to lift Concord-Carlisle (9-4-4) past Weston, 2-0.
