Be careful what you wish for.

That’s what someone should’ve told Hillary Clinton, complicit Democrats and their henchmen in the media who for the past year relentlessly pushed conspiracy theories of supposed Russian meddling into the 2016 presidential campaign, concocting claims that the Trump campaign was behind it.

Those anti-Trump accusations have gone nowhere — in fact, they’ve circled right around to bite the Democrats in the behind. Talk about a boomerang effect. Now we learn, it’s the DNC, Clinton herself, and her former campaign associates who colluded with Russians while jeopardizing our national security.

The Washington Post reported this week that it was the Clinton campaign and the DNC that financed the discredited Russian dossier. A dossier about thencandidate Donald Trump comprised of salacious lies and rumors crafted by a British ex-spy and Fusion GPS, a notorious opposition research firm — both with a history of working with the Kremlin.

So while Democrats have been nothing short of hysterical about Russian meddling into our 2016 presidential election, they themselves worked with a sketchy ex-British spy, paying him and Fusion GPS as much as $9 million — money used in part to pay Russian informants — all to subvert our democracy.

The illegitimate dossier — riddled with phony allegations — should’ve been thrown in the trash. Instead, it was published by BuzzFeed in January and used by the FBI as an excuse to open the politically motivated Trump-Russia probe. James Comey’s FBI and the Obama administration apparently also used the debunked dossier as an excuse to snoop on members of the Trump campaign and “unmask” associates.

And to think the Democrats have had the gall to suggest Trump is the one who poses a threat of tyranny. Talk about hypocrisy — on steroids.

But before that failed effort at a power grab, there was the corruption: the highly controversial Uranium One deal where in 2010 the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s State Department gave Russia control of 20 percent of the U.S. uranium supply. Millions of dollars flowed into the Clinton Foundation via nine Uranium One investors, while her husband accepted $500,000 for a one-hour speech from a Russian bank tied to the deal.

All that happened on then-FBI Director Robert Mueller’s watch, even as his agents uncovered bribery, kickbacks, extortion, money-laundering and other criminal activity involving Russian business entities linked to the deal.

Mueller, now special counsel investigating the bogus Trump-Russia claims, needs to recuse himself.

Now that it’s becoming clear where all the Russian collusion and corruption was — in Clinton’s camp — along with the effort to steal an election, we need a new special prosecutor. One who isn’t hopelessly compromised, and can take a hard look at Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration.

Because Hillary’s been right about one thing all along — we can’t let the Russians interfere with our democracy. And she has to pay for trying to help them do that.
