HOTTEST HUB CLUB’S GRAND

-

You can find us in da club. Specifically, in Seaport’s latest nightclub, The Grand.

Opening its doors at Seaport Boulevard last night — literally hours after construction wrapped up — the alreadyhot-spot welcomed a flock of the Hub’s most posh night owls to see renowned Dutch DJ Hardwell as he christened the club with the first of many of its shows.

The Grand gives us a taste of next-level nightlife that Boston has been so desperately craving. You know, like the kind you would find when going out in any other major metropolis, from New York to Miami.

The 12,000 square feet of space — brought to us by the Big Night Entertainment Group trio Randy Greenstein, Ed Kane and Joe Kane — is decked out in Hollywood regency adornments: glitzy, golden-hued chandeliers, cut glass walls, rich leather tufted booths and fancy schmancy marble tables.

The entire establishment is manned by a fleet of corsetclad women — reminders that you should probably hit the gym in the morning — and bouncers who look like they definitely ate their Wheaties growing up.

Being Boston, let’s hit pause for a sec and geek out about the tech. A 70-foot, LED wraparound wall encompasses the dance floor, which serves as the perfect place to drink in the constant stream of custom videos created by NightRide Visuals. That’s the same VJ team behind house master Steve Aoki’s visual content, BTW.

If spirits get sluggish at the 1 a.m. mark, there’s a sick kinetic lighting system, which casts dancing beams of light onto the crowd to get them pumped. And all of those delicious beats will be surging through the space via a custom Funktion-One sound system. We can personally attest that even at its lowest volume, that bass is bumpin’ and your feet are movin’.

Big Night Entertainment Group has already brought New England some prime spots for both laidback noshing and late nights of living it up.

Among their current establishments: Empire, Red Lantern, Shrine Foxwoods and, most recently, Explorateur.

In addition to Hardwell, top DJs R3HAB and Aoki are also on the docket for playing The Grand. They’ll hit the booth tomorrow and Sunday, respectively.

The Grand’s downstairs neighbor ain’t half bad either. Big Night Entertainment Group built Scorpion Bar Boston directly beneath the nightclub, and it’s opening tonight. The restobar will be a sophisticated Mexican cantina bringing us spicy bites in the daytime and that lounge vibe — complete with its own DJ booth — as soon as the sun goes down. And if the name didn’t give it away, yes, there will be scorpion bowls.

The Grand will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. We guess that’s why they call it a nightclub.
