GET THE GOODS ON EDELMAN
If you ever wanted to wear head-to-toe gear that professed your love for Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, here’s your chance: The Official JE11 Pop Up Shop
is now open for business.
This marks the second year Jules has invaded a space in the Back Bay and filled it with merch prime for the picking. Only this time around, the pop-up is taking place at 333 Newbury St.
Opening its doors to a crowd of eager customers yesterday morning, the pop-up will be going strong until Sunday. The space is fully stocked with JE11 goods. We’re talking oodles of apparel and accessories — like every kind of T-shirt you could ever covet — along with sporting paraphernalia like skateboards and frisbees.
The footballer’s books, “Flying High” for the wee ones and “Relentless,” are also there for the taking. And it wouldn’t be a proper Edelman pop-up without plenty of cutesy stuffed squirrels.
A word of advice if you’re venturing to the Newbury Street locale: Come for the clothing, stay for the art.
The best part of the pop-up just may be the entire room dedicated to art installations featuring Patriots motifs. For instance, you can feast your eyes on “OBill,” a blackand-white piece à la Andy Warhol
that portrays coach Bill Belichick’s
classic game face. Then there’s a so-called self-portrait of a squirrel plastering fliers on a white wall, as well as a collage paying homage to The Catch, Jules’ miraculous play late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LI that saved the Pats’ gametying drive.
It’s enough to make you want to curate your own at-home collection.
Edelman popped by the popup later in the afternoon, saluting fans and manning the register. He’s slated to return Sunday to host a massive meet-andgreet with fans. It’s going down from 5-7 p.m. and is completely sold out.
Fingers crossed you already got your ticket.
