King Philip gets our call

- Twitter: @BostonHeraldHS

It took eight weeks, but I finally cracked the eight-win mark in the weekly Pickorama.

To take the glasshalfapproach, I went undefeated in picks involving every league in the state except one: the dreaded Hockomock League. The league that has contributed several losses to my winning percentage over the past few years was at its evil best last Friday night.

Still, with momentum on my side, let’s hope the winning trend continues into the semifinal playoff weekend (Home teams in

CAPS):

KING PHILIP over Mansfield: Most teams are hoping to be picked to win. Both of these teams want us to pick against them. Sorry KP.

BB&N over Governor’s Academy: Big game in the ISL with the winner being in prime position to nab a NEPSAC Bowl bid.

Everett over LEXINGTON: Sal Frelick is as good as advertised, but the Crimson Tide are as well.

BC HIGH over Catholic Memorial: Eagles remain undefeated at the expense of their bitter rival.

Xaverian over NEEDHAM: Hawks prevail in the John Schlittler Bowl.

NATICK over BridgewaterClassic pickem game between two top10 programs rich in football tradition.

Wilmington over MARBLEHEAD: Upset special. Really like the way Craig Turner has his team playing right now.

TEWKSBURY over Danvers: Redmen haven’t forgotten what happened against the Falcons two years ago.

LAWRENCE ACADEMY over Milton Academy: Spartans can officially start making bowling plans.

Millis over ST. JOHN PAUL: Classic encounter between two of the better quarterbacks in Bryce Latosek and Devan Harrison.

Last week: 8-2 Season to date: 55-25
