Canadiens lose it in Wild third

Jason Zucker scored three goals in the third period and Devan Dubnyk made 41 saves for a shutout as the Minnesota Wild beat the Canadiens, 3-0, to end their three-game losing streak last night in Montreal.

Montreal goalie Charlie Lindgren, who had won two starts in a row and was unbeaten in five career NHL games, made 32 saves. Dubnyk, 7-1-1 against Montreal, posted his first shutout this season and the 25th of his career.

The Canadiens got bad news just before the game that top defenseman Shea Weber (lower body) and center Jonathan Drouin (hand) would not dress. With goalie Carey Price already out due to a lower-body injury, the Canadiens were without arguably their three best players.

Claude Julien, in his second stint with Montreal, coached his 200th game for the team.

Oilers 3, Devils 2 — In Newark, N.J., Leon Draisaitl scored with 16.3 seconds left in overtime as Edmonton beat New Jersey for its first back back-to-back victories of the season.

Anton Slepyshev and Milan Lucic also scored for Edmonton, and Cam Talbot made 32 saves.

Cory Schneider made 29 saves for the Devils, who have lost four straight, and Brian Boyle scored his first of the season. He had been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Myelogenou­s Leukemia during training camp, and he had missed all of the preseason and New Jersey’s first 10 games of the regular season while receiving treatment.

Flyers 3, Blackhawks 1 — Claude Giroux and Jakub Vora- cek each had a goal and two assists to power host Philadelph­ia past Chicago.

Brian Elliott made 38 saves and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who avenged last week’s shutout loss in Chicago while beating the Blackhawks for the 14th straight time in Philadelph­ia during the regular season, a streak that dates to Nov. 9, 1996. The Blackhawks did clinch their 2010 Stanley Cup title with a Game 6 win on the Flyers’ home ice.

Connor Murphy scored for the Blackhawks. Corey Craw- ford stopped 28 shots.

Blues 3, Coyotes 2 — Brayden Schenn and Alexander Steen scored in a shootout and Carter Hutton (27 saves) stopped both attempts he faced in the tiebreaker as host St. Louis beat Arizona for the 12th straight time.

Alex Pietrangel­o and defenseman Joel Edmundson scored in regulation for the Blues. Brendan Perlini scored both goals for the Coyotes, who haven’t won in regulation this season.

Flames 6, Red Wings 3 — Jaromir Jagr scored his first goal for his new team and added an assist to lead host Calgary over Detroit.

Johnny Gaudreau scored a pair of goals, including an empty netter, Micheal Ferland and Matthew Tkachuk also tallied and Mike Smith had 39 stops for the Flames, who have won four of their last five. Martin Frk, Frans Nielsen and Anthony Mantha had goals for Detroit.

Ducks 4, Canucks 1 — Jakob Silfverber­g scored twice in 35 seconds and host Anaheim used three power-play goals to beat Vancouver and snap a four-game losing skid.

Brandon Montour and Hampus Lindholm also scored for Anaheim. Backup goalie Ryan Miller made 19 saves.

Sven Baertschi scored for Vancouver, while Ducks goalie Jacob Markstrom made 30 saves.
