After this weekend’s bitter cold snap, the region will see more typical temperatures in the week ahead.

“It’ll be a much better weather pattern than what we saw this past weekend,” said Lenore Correia, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

Temperatures in Boston this week will rise to the mid-50s, which is more typical for this time of year.

The week will be a reprieve after this past weekend’s frigid cold dropped temperatures to the low 20s, breaking two Boston weather records for Saturday’s date.

The typical high temperature this time of year is 53 degrees.
