Sudbury hiker rescued in N.H.
A Sudbury woman was rescued yesterday after she slipped on a patch of ice, injuring her lower leg, while hiking the Peabody Brook Trail in Shelburne, N.H.
Barbara Audin, 60, of Sudbury was unable to place weight on her leg or walk after the accident that happened about 2 p.m., authorities said.
After she called 911, two New Hampshire Fish and Game Department officers rushed to the scene and carried the woman out on an ATV. A retired New Hampshire state police trooper also lent a hand when he found the hurt hiker.
Audin was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for treatment. She could not be reached for comment.
