Kane, ’Hawks swoop by Wild

Patrick Kane scored two slick goals, Corey Crawford made 27 saves and the Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild, 4-1, last night in Chicago for their season-high fifth straight win.

Ryan Hartman also scored for Chicago, snapping a 17game drought dating to Oct. 28. Tommy Wingels added a shorthande­d empty-netter.

Matt Dumba scored at 5:56 of the third, spoiling Crawford’s shutout bid on a screened shot from the right point. The Wild dropped their second straight after a four-game winning streak.

Kane, who has seven points in his last four games, connected on a one-timer and a breakaway to give him 14 goals this season and four in the last three games. The forward’s 298th and 299th career goals moved him into fifth place in team history, ahead of Dennis Hull.

Alex Stalock made 42 saves for the Wild. Dumba has scored Minnesota’s last three goals.

Golden Knights 5, Panthers 2 — In Las Vegas, Erik Haula scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and Vegas beat Florida.

Nate Schmidt, Colin Miller, Jonathan Marchessau­lt and James Neal also scored for the Golden Knights, who moved into first place in the Pacific Division. The expansion team is tied with Los Angeles with 44 points, but has the tiebreaker by having played two fewer games.

Radim Vraba and Mike Matheson scored for the Panthers.

Jets 4, Blues 0 — Connor Hellebuyck stopped 24 shots for his eighth career shutout and second of the season, Patrik Laine scored his NHLbest 10th power-play goal and Winnipeg eased past St. Louis.

Adam Lowry, Mark Scheifele and Josh Morrissey also scored as the Jets turned the tables following a 2-0 loss in St. Louis the previous night. Morrissey also had an assist, and Andrew Copp and Jacob Trouba added two each.

Flames 6, Canucks 1 — Mark Giordano scored twice, Sam Bennett had a goal and three assists, and visiting Calgary snapped a threegame losing streak with the rout of Vancouver.

Mark Jankowski added a goal and two assists for Calgary, while Matthew Tkachuk and Micheal Ferland also scored. David Rittich made 16 saves.

Markus Granlund scored for the Canucks, who saw NHL rookie scoring leader Brock Boeser hobble off in the second period after being hit in the foot with a shot and not return.

Elsewhere in the NHL — Erik Johnson of the Colorado Avalanche was suspended for two games for boarding.
