BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
SAM ACQUAVIVA NEWBURYPORT
It was quite a postseason for the five-time Cape Ann League AllStar and Runner of the Year. The junior captured the EMass Division 5 title, leading Newburyport to the team championship. He then ran to first place at the Div. 2 All-State meet. Acquaviva was also victorious at the Bay State Invitational. An honor student, Acquaviva is the junior class president.
LUCAS ARAMBURU BROOKLINE
The latest in a long line of talented Brookline harriers, this junior finished third at both the EMass Division 1 and All-State meets. He then went on to nail down third again at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The runner-up in the Bay State Conference meet, Aramburu is a twotime Herald All-Scholastic.
ZACH CONANT WESTWOOD
The Tri-Valley League MVP won the league title by a whopping 44 seconds. Conant then went on to finish second at both the EMass Division 4 meet and the Div. 2 All-State event. His state performance helped Westwood to a sixth-place finish. A junior, Conant runs both indoor and outdoor track for the Wolverines and aims to continue running in college.
COLIN FITZPATRICK LOWELL
Fitzpatrick had a huge season for the Red Raiders, culminating in a ninth-place finish in the Division 1 All-States. The senior was eighth in the EMass Div. 1 race, helping Lowell to the team title. He earned All-Star status after finishing second in the Merrimack Valley Conference championship, and also took second at the Manhattan Invitational.
NASIR GIBSON LOWELL
The Merrimack Valley Conference champion, this senior led Lowell to the team title at the Manchester Invitational with a third-place finish. Gibson placed a solid eighth at the Division 1 All-States to help Lowell to a second-place finish. Gibson finished fourth in the always-competitive Manhattan Invitational. He also runs winter and spring track for the Red Raiders.
MICHAEL GRIFFIN KING PHILIP
This sophomore talent opened a lot of eyes this fall with his huge win in the sophomore race at the Twilight Invitational. Griffin was seventh at the EMass Division 2 race and took 14th against a deep field at the Div. 1 All-States. He was a strong third in the Hockomock League championships on the grassy Wrentham Developmental Center course. Griffin is an honor roll student.
IAN HORSBURGH NEWTON NORTH
The sophomore had a productive season, capped off with a 10thplace finish at the Nike Regionals. Along the way, he placed third in the Bay State Conference championships and fourth at the EMass Division 1 race. Horsburgh ran to 13th at the Div. 1 All-States, helping the Tigers to a fifth-place team finish. He competes on the indoor and outdoor track teams as well.
SEAN KAY ARLINGTON CATHOLIC
The sophomore was the Catholic Central Leauge MVP in leading his team to a 9-0 record and the league title. Kay also captured the Division 2 race at the Kelley Invitational. He went on to take sixth place at the EMass Div. 5 championships and ninth at the Div. 2 All-State meet. Kay is an honor roll student and holds the school indoor and outdoor record for the 2-mile.
THOMAS LINGARD LEXINGTON
Despite missing the majority of Lexington's dual meets due to patella tendonitis, the senior returned to finish third at the Middlesex League meet and earn All-Star status. He went on to take 12th at the EMass Division 1 race and 11th at the Div. 1 All-State championship. The defending indoor 1,000-meter champion, Lingard will continue his running career next year at Dartmouth College.
ANDREW MAH NEWTON NORTH
The senior blitzed the field to defend his Bay State Conference title and earn league MVP honors once again. He then went on to take second at both the EMass Division 1 and All-State championships. Mah pushed hard to take third place at the Nike Northeast Regionals and was the Div. 1 junior/senior champion at the Coaches Invitational. He runs both indoor and outdoor track for the Tigers.
CAMERON McLEOD NEEDHAM
The junior led the Rockets to a 7-3 record and placed fifth at the Bay State Conference championships. He went on to take fifth at the EMass Division 1 race and seventh at Div. 1 All-States. McLeod kicked off his big meet season with a third-place finish at the Amherst Invitational. A member of the Environmental Club, McLeod also runs both indoor and outdoor track.
STEVEN O’DRISCOLL NORWELL
The two-time MVP of the South Shore League, the senior led his team to the league title. He then paced Norwell to a second-place team finish at the EMass Division 5 meet by winning the individual race. Norwell's course record holder, O'Driscoll went on to finish fifth at the Div. 2 All-State race. Second at the Twilight Invitational, the four-time SSL All-Star is also a member of the National Honor Society.
RYAN OOSTING ARLINGTON
Unbeaten during dual meets, the junior won the Middlesex League meet to earn MVP honors. He then battled a bout of mononucleosis to win gold at the EMass Division 2 meet and place sixth at the Div. 1 All-State event. Owner of the school's course record, the National Honor Society member is also the national outdoor 5,000 champ as well as the All-State mile and 2-mile titlist.
KALIN PETROV MANSFIELD
The Hockomock League champion and MVP, Petrov helped Mansfield to its 16th straight league title. He went on to place ninth at the EMass Division 2 meet and then 12th at the Div. 1 All-State race. The senior was first at the Catholic Memorial Invitational and third at the Ocean State Invitational. A member of the French National Honor Society, he runs both indoor and outdoor track.
TRISTAN SHELGREN ST. JOHN’S PREP
Shelgren's finishing speed separated himself from the field this fall, which included a big win at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Championships. The senior captured the EMass Division 1 title and easily outdistanced a strong field at Div. 1 All-States. The Ocean State Invitational champion and three-time Catholic Conference MVP, the honor student will run next year at the University of North Carolina.
KELLEN WATERS IPSWICH
The Cape Ann Baker Division Runner of the Year, Waters dominated the EMass Division 6 field in winning that title. He was a solid eighth at the Div. 2 All-State race and captured his team's MVP title for the second consecutive year. Waters was second at the CAL meet and went undefeated in Baker Division dual meets. He is a member of the National Honor Society.
